Habs on the Road

Today, we FINALLY got the new Truma AquaGo water heater installed, which works great!!  I’m thinking of using the original Atwood water heater for target practice, or possibly a boat anchor, or maybe take it out to a field and demolish it like they did with the printer in “Office Space”.

We are super excited to have this water heater installed!  It’s taken 5 months of griping, emailing, many phone calls, and a lot of frustration.  When we take the RV to Forest River in late September, we’ll have them paint the white edge where the new water heater cover doesn’t quite cover the body where the old one did.

After picking up the RV at 5 PM, we immediately headed north from Tampa toward family and friends in Arkansas, who we haven’t seen in 2 months!  It will be great to see everyone!  The kids constantly ask how many days it will be until they get to see everyone.  We hate that we are going to just miss Father’s Day by one day!

Man, does it feel great to be behind the wheel again!  I’m glad we had sunny weather for driving this evening.

After driving about 4 hours, we spent the night in a glorious Walmart RV Resort / parking lot in a nice suburb of Tallahassee, FL.  Waking up on Father’s Day in a Walmart parking lot is every dad’s dream, right?  Haha!  I’m just glad to not be waiting on the RV to be ready, and it’s a nice break from dealing with ants crawling up the water, sewer, and electrical hookups, and also not having to hook up anything.  Simply level out the RV (1 button), put out a couple of the slides (2 buttons), and roll down the window shades.  I did have to use some leveling blocks, but that took about 3 minutes.

In a way, we feel like we are starting our journey all over again, since it’s been a while since we’ve driven very far!  We did stay busy in FL, doing lots of fun things:

• Climbed the St. Augustine Lighthouse
• Disney World

• Kayaked in Tampa Bay
• Blue Man Group
• Disney Springs
• Kennedy Space Center
• Watched Captain Underpants and Cars 3
• Fixed two water leaks…wait, that wasn’t fun

Happy Father’s Day!!

We stopped Sugar Sands RV Resort in Gulf Shores, AL for the evening.  We had not been here since Winter, 2016.  The beach is busier this time of year, but really not that bad.  The kids had fun playing in the ocean one last time before we move inland.  Great Father’s Day!!

We are headed toward Vicksburg, MS next, where we found a nice RV resort. Then, Tuesday, we’ll arrive in Van Buren, AR.
