New York City!

Having canceled our trip to Hawaii, we had a lot of credit with American Airlines, so we spend about 5 days in NYC!

We stayed at The Algonquin, which is the oldest operating hotel in the city. Really neat place! They have a cat named Hamlet that lives in the lobby.

We stayed in the Dorothy Parker suite. She was a famous critic and contributor to the New Yorker magazine many years ago. Really awesome suite!
Our hotel was really close to Times Square. Once we checked in, we headed to the Square to see all the lights!
We took the kids to the Lego store on 5th Ave – so cool!!
Woohoo! 😄
The fancy Saks Fifth Avenue
FAO Schwarz piano! So fun to play on the piano like the one from the movie Big
We visited the Empire State Building!
Neat view of the Chrysler Building
Someone told us to be sure to check out Summit, which is located inside One Vanderbilt – a neat building next to Grand Central Terminal.
We took a crazy elevator ride to Summit. You get off and enter a bizarre, color changing hallway…
You then enter a giant mirror-filled room with a view of the city! Really crazy and disorienting!
A bouncing ball room!
We went next door to see Grand Central Terminal
A very happy moment, and a dream come true to be standing by the Seinfeld restaurant!
We then took the subway downtown to see the Friends TV show apartment building.
We then stopped by Ground Zero – such an eerie feeling.
Huge mall that has architecture that resembles the fallen towers.
Taking the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty!
We hiked up many flights of stairs to the pedestal level (10 stories up!) just below the actual statue (as far as they let you go these days). We were exhausted!!
Had some incredible pizza!!
Huge slices!!
We celebrated our 19th anniversary at Carmine’s Italian restaurant! Massive portions of food served family style!
Trash art! 😂
Avin was cracking up about something!
We saw these e-bikes all over – delivery services all use the same kind of bike.
We saw The Lion King at the Minskoff Theater on Broadway – really amazing!
Our last night in New York City
Headed home! See you on the next trip!
