We spent a few days in Cape Cod and visited Martha’s Vineyard. We really had a great time for being such a short trip. It was the opposite of NYC – a lot more relaxing!
Off to the airport at 5am!Watching the sunrise from the plane before liftoff We had a layover in Washington DC, and they ended up canceling our flight to Boston so we spent the afternoon seeing a few sights in DC! It turned out to be a really fun day!We waited for an hour to get our luggage off the plane so that we could go check into a hotel…The Pentagon! The backside of the Lincoln MemorialThe White House! We went into the museum of natural history, which is one of the Smithsonian museums we had not been in before. Really awesome (aside from all of the evolution nonsense). Flying into Boston… The runway starts right at the water!Had to stop for some Dunkin’ Donuts on our drive from Boston to Cape Cod, since they are everywhere up here!Cape Cod!We stayed at a neat little inn called the Beach Breeze Inn, located in Falmouth, Mass. it’s super close to the beach! This is where our hotel was located. Martha’s Vineyard is the island just to the southWe ate at The Quarterdeck restaurant. We loved the clam chowder!Lots of neat little shops in FalmouthWe walked down to the beach to hang out for a little while!Tripp and I went tide-pooling, but didn’t see muchTaking a ferry over to Martha’s VineyardWe arrived in Oak Bluffs, one of the towns on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. We decided the best way to see the island was to rent a Jeep, and man, it was so much fun!We stopped at a couple of little towns. This is Edgartown. We drove out to Aquinnah Cliffs and Lighthouse. Really pretty!!We spotted a tiny bakery alongside the road and stopped to see what they had. It was a honor system bakery, where you put cash into a bowl over on the little table. Just like Momo’s Cheesecake in Bar Harbor, ME (ohhh, how amazing that cheesecake was!) We had bought a little painting of West Chop Lighthouse, so we drove to find it!What an awesome house!!! Classic Cape Cod style! We ended our time at Martha’s Vineyard by eating at a really great Italian restaurant called Giordano’s! It was soooo good!!We saw this awesome whale!! 😂Back to Boston for a rainy flight back home.
Nice pics but I miss the RV!
