Day 42 – We took a trip to the top of the Space Needle today! It was one of the kids’ favorite things we’ve done on this trip.
It’s a bird…
It’s Superman!!!!!!!
We then drove our car onto a ferry at Pier 52 and rode to Bainbridge Island (35 min trip across the Puget Sound).
Inside, the ferry holds hundreds of people and looks like an airport terminal. This photo shows about 1/3 of the seating area with a snack place in the middle part of the ferry.
Once there, we drove around the north half of the island and came across “Grand Forest”, which was indeed grand!! This is my kind of forest! Huge ferns, giant, old evergreens, and only a little light filtering in through the trees. Perfection!! š
After that we found a neat park with a beach and tons of driftwood! The kids loved trying to stay on the logs and not touch the sand.
My. Rainier in the background:
We drove around the downtown / shopping / restaurant area for a bit before boarding the ferry for the return trip, but most places were closed since it was a Monday evening.
We had a great view of Mt. Rainier lit up by the sunset on the way back!

Tomorrow is our last full day in the Seattle area. We wish we could stay longer! Maybe next year.
Beautiful forest and beach. LOVE Superman flying across Puget Sound. He really enjoyed Seattle I think. Now, for a safe trip back home. And more fun on the way!!
It’s been fun to see where Superman goes! Today he heads to Marymoor Park!
My husband and I are also staying at Lake Pleasant RV park and noticed the bumper sticker on your car with your blog link. Since I am new to blogging, I had to check out your site! I enjoyed reading about your Seattle experience, we have also taken in a few of the areas you mentioned. There is so much to do in this beautiful place! Happy adventuring as you continue on your journey!
Hey, thank you for visiting our blog! We enjoyed reading yours as well and we now wish we had driven a little farther to Poulsbo after reading about it! Next time… Great photos on your blog!
Networking on the road. LOL!!! Have a great drive home, the long way!!! Can’t wait to see Superman at Old Faithful!!
